Jungle Safari in Nepal :

Nepal has 16 Parks (National Park, Wildlife Reserves and Conservation Areas), occupying 16% of its total geographical area. Jungle safaris on elephant ride or jeep drive are offered at the Parsa Wildlife Reserve, Royal Chitwan National Park, Royal Bardia National Park and the Royal Suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve, all of which are located in the low plain land.

Royal Chitwan National Park :

The Royal Chitwan National Park, lying south of Kathmandu adjacent to the Indian border, is the oldest and one of the largest national parks in the world. In 1984, it was listed as a World Heritage Site. This lowland has a subtropical climate producing tropical fruits and vegetables - the sweetest ever tasted. Apart from the 43 species of mammals, you will encounter the endangered one horned rhino, the royal bengal tiger, wild elephants, etc.

Keep your eyes upward as over 500 species of birdlife inhabit the tree tops. Chitwan was widely used by Royalty for hunting. Malaria was eradicated in 1954 so many ethnic groups migrated to this area


Royal Bardia National Park :

Located in west Nepal and covering 968 sq. km. is the largest wilderness area in the Terai. The park provides an excellent habitat for many endangered species - rhinos, elephants, gharial crocodile, gangetic dolphin, etc. Many different mammals migratory birds, snakes and lizards can also be found there. As you canoe the Karnali river you will spot the fresh water dolphin playing in the water and crocodiles basking in the sun. Available to you are elephant rides, canoe trips, jungle trips in jeeps and on foot. Package tours, which includes all travel to and from Kathmandu, resort accommodation, meals and activities are offered. From Kathmandu a one hour flight to Nepalgunj followed by a three hour drive, the park is reached.


Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve :

The park is set in the flood plains of eastern terai. Over 280 species of birds life can be seen here while 1000's of migratory birds, found nowhere else in Nepal, rest here before continuing their journey. Water buffalo, wild bear and spotted deer can be seen. The park can be reached by vehicle on the east west highway or by a 45 minute flight to Biratnagar or by alternatively rafting the Sun Koshi.
